Matriki sea adventures offers deep sea fishing, sport fishing and reef fishing off the Aitutaki coast line. Deep sea fishing we will take you out into the deep blue for Yellow fin tuna, Wahoo and Mahi Mahi. Inshore fishing offers up the opportunity to cast the surf line for Giant Trevally, Bluefin trevally, Black trevally, Dog tooth tuna, and what ever else may be lurking the Aitutaki reefs. note: Casting the surf line for Trevally is for more advanced anglers! If you are new to fishing you can try your hand at reef fishing for Peacock grouper, Emporers, Queen fish and the occasional Dog tooth tuna. Read our fishing report here.
At the end of the days fishing you will be invited back to Matriki to have your fish BBQ'd to perfection. Spear fishing is also growing in popularity on Aitutaki.

Spear fishing:

The reef and FAD's (fish attracting devices) are fast becoming a destination for world class spear fishing. The Government installed 3 FAD's around Aitutaki and they are really starting to produce wonderful spear fishing results, Wahoo, Dog tooth tuna, Dorado (Mahi Mahi) and other species of sport fish are taken. Best months (May-August).

Note: Matriki promotes environmentally friendly fishing practices, there will be no killing of some fish species and no killing more then can be eaten in a reasonable time period (2-4 days).
